I was lucky to have lecturers who reached out to me not only as academic mentors, but also as models of excellence and commitment.

An Introduction to Christian Iconography
Fr Justin Venn
This module covers a broad scope of iconographic theology and history, following the Christian image from its birth to the modern period, then takes a look at the Renaissance, the decline of the Byzantine icon, and, finally, contemporary revival. Current practice and challenges will also be examined. In unison with this theology, the class will also practice basic icon drawing techniques, covering draughtsmanship, construction and balance, composition, and form modelling.
(NB This course will only be offered if a minimum of five persons register.)
