Introduction to the Sources of Public International Law

Over four consecutive Wednesday evenings, Prof Garth ABRAHAM will introduce participants to the sources of Public International Law.  The topics to be addressed will include:

  • Overview of Section 38 of the Statute of the International Court of Justice;
    an Introduction to Treaty Law;
  • An Introduction to Customary International Law;
  • Other Sources of Law;
  • International Law and the South African Constitution

Apart from those already in the legal profession, the course will also appeal to those, without a legal background, who have regularly to deal with aspects of International Law (Aid and NGO workers, Diplomats, Politicians, Civil Servants, Journalists, Missionaries).
