Offered over the course of a day (Monday, 4 July, 09h00 – 17h00), the Course aims to examine the interplay between Ethics and Sport. The presenter, Dr Garrath ROSSLEE (a practising Psychologist), will consider, inter alia:
The role of sport in society and within Catholic Social Teaching;
Ethics and Competitive Sport – mutually exclusive or can they be reconciled? (The values of integrity, honesty and fairness will be considered);
Ethics, beliefs, values including performance, standards, success, maintaining perspective, expression, boundaries, resilience, continual improvement, habits and trust;
Case histories and example;
Towards a synthesis – developing one’s own framework.
The Course would be of interest to all those involved in sport, whether as participants, coaches or administrators attached to federations, governing bodies, regulatory associations, professional clubs or franchises.
At the end of each of the Courses, an attendance certificate will be awarded.
