I was lucky to have lecturers who reached out to me not only as academic mentors, but also as models of excellence and commitment.

Congratulations to the Matric Class of 2018
Sincere congratulations to those of you who have passed your Matriculation examinations with university entrance; all the hard work and effort invested during the course of the past year has produced the desired result.
Once the celebrations have ended, many of you – if you have not yet already done so – will be thinking of the next step: university. Some of you will have decided on your university of choice many months ago; other of you might still be uncertain. To the uncertain, I urge you to consider the St Augustine option.
Located in the secure, leafy suburb of Victory Park in Johannesburg, St Augustine is a ‘not for profit’ private provider of higher education, committed to the spirit and values of the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. St Augustine offers three degrees at the undergraduate level: the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Commerce and the Bachelor of Theology.
St Augustine prides itself on the personal attention devoted to its students: favourable staff / student ratios and high impact teaching (higher than normal ‘contact hours’ between staff and students) allows opportunity for interaction and debate, as well as personal growth and the development of self-confidence. Not surprisingly, the undergraduate throughput rate at St Augustine is significantly higher than that of the large ‘public’ institutions.
At St Augustine we aim to produce graduates who have learnt ‘to think rigorously, so as to act rightly and to serve humanity better’. If our vision accords with yours, we look forward to hearing from you!
