About the Faculty Office
The Faculty Office is responsible for quality assurance of the various programmes (qualifications and short courses) offered by the College. There are three Schools within the Faculty organised along disciplinary lines: the School of Humanities and Education, the School of Commerce, Philosophy, and Applied Ethics, and the School of Theology. Within the Schools there are Departments.

The Academic Dean heads up the Faculty Office and is assisted by administrative staff reponsible for the programmes offered by the College (as listed in each School above). The Academic Dean chairs the Faculty Board which consists of all teaching members of the College (there are some forty members of staff) where permanent or contractual. A range of standing committees operate to assist the Faculty Board.

These are listed here:
The Faculty Teaching and Learning Committee
(responsible for all quality assurance, design, and evaluation of modules and programmes). This Committee is chaired by Professor de Kadt.

The Faculty Higher Degrees Committee
(responsible for all matters relating to research proposals and higher degree programmes). This Committee is chaired by Professor van Vuuren.

The Faculty Admissions and Scholarships Committee (responsible for oversight of the admissions process into programmes, and the awarding of scholarships, bursaries and prizes). This Committee is chaired by Professor van Vuuren.

The Faculty Executive Committee (responsible for the governance of the Schools, the development of the Annual Faculty Budget, and the appointment of contracted members of staff). This committee is chaired by Professor van Vuuren.
