The primary document for governance in the College is the University Statutes enacted by the South African Catholic Bishops Conference in 2008, and approved by the College Board of Directors in that same year. The College was also formally approved by the Congregation for Catholic Education in Rome in 2008, some nine years after the founding of the College.
