The Doctorate is the highest academic qualification available within the College, and the College has a considerable tradition of producing quality research through the supervision process undertaken by students and the academics.
The range of topics covered in supervision and thesis research is equally cosniderable and we encourage students already in possession of a Masters degree, and who have an interest in the pursuit of further research to be in contact with us. The College offers two degrees of DPhil:
Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy.
Doctor of Philosophy in Theology.
People who already hold a degree of Master in a relevant area are eligible to apply for admission as a candidate, provided that the Senate is satisfied that they qualified to undertake the line of research they propose to follow.
The DPhil is a research degree which requires the submission of a thesis completed under supervision on a topic approved by the Senate. The minimum period of study is two years of full-time study or four years of part-time study.
