A central tenet of Catholic Social Thought is a committment to Social Justice and the option for the poor. The College, although not bound in the same way as public higher education institutions to employment equity legislation, believes that employment equity is a key feature of social and educational redress; that diversity is a critical element of the learning experience; and that the development of the common good and option for the poor, involve addressing past imbalances in respect of groups previously disadvantaged by Apartheid.
In 2008 the College passed through Senate its Equity Policy, and in 2009 it enacted through Senate, the Employment Equity Plan which was duly approved by the Board of Directors in early 2010. Reporting on equity figures, and targets, occurs in relation to the Plan. For further information please contact the Registrar on: 011 380 9000.
