Professor Rex van Vuuren

Academic Dean and Acting Registrar

BA(Hons), MA (Clin Psych), DPhil (Pretoria)

Professor van Vuuren is registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa as both a clinical psychologist and a research psychologist.  He serves on the management team of the College as Academic Dean and Acting Registrar. He is also involved with teaching topics at the interface between disciplines, such as psychology and spirituality, psychology and family and gender ethics and educational leadership and spirituality.

Lectures in Psychology; Psychology and Spirituality; Psychology and Spirituality for Educational Leadership and Qualitative Research Methodology.  Lectures to undergraduate students and supervises masters and doctoral candidates.

Research Interests:

His academic interests are grounded in existential-phenomenological and hermeneutic approaches.

Current Research Projects: 

Recently contributed toward a research project on a profile of “Private Higher Education in South Africa”
